Porlwi by Light is an annual festival dedicated to the cultural, tourism, educational and socio-economic aspects of Mauritius. The capital city will be teeming with lively activities over the week-end as displays are arranged around Port Louis (see map for details).

Founded by Astrid Dalais and Guillaume Jauffret, Porlwi by Light is more than a festival. The artistic committee of 2016 comprises of: Guillaume Jauffret (co-founder & Art Director), Emilien Jubeau (Art Director), Eric Chavoix (Architect), Krishna Luchoomun (Artist), Jurgen Eric aka Gun (Visual Communications), and Daniella Bastien (Anthropologist).

The chosen theme for this year is “People”. According to the promoters, this theme comes from a desire to initiate a dialogue on our identity, our multicultural mode of life and the fate of our historical capital city, Port Louis. The second edition of the Porlwi by Light festival seeks to place man at the centre of city life, because towns own their existence to the presence of man. Port Louis, with its historical cache is an example of a cultural melting pot.
